Named for the same body of water Captain George Vancouver rowed 225 years ago, the Salish Sea Coastal Rowing club is Vancouver's dedicated coastal rowing club.
The Salish Sea Coastal Rowing Club (SSCRC) is the first FISA recognized coastal rowing club in BC. Based out of Jericho Sailing Centre we have great rowing and club facilities. Our members and our fleet are dedicated to coastal rowing and fun. All rowers are welcome.
We started the club because we are excited about getting out on the ocean, experiencing the solitude and independence. Big waves or small, our fleet is seaworthy in most weather conditions. We are bounded only by the limits of our imagination and endurance. And we can love getting closer to nature. Our members have rowed with a grey whale, harbor porpoise, seals and a variety of sea birds.
Our fleet of Eurodiffusion, Liteboat, Alden and Maas boats are built to excel in waves and rougher water than any flat water rowing shell. This means that Salish Sea members can row in more weather conditions, more days of the year, and longer duration rows than any other rower. The ocean is our playground.
